Australians flying to Canada, or changing planes at a Canadian airport, need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before they board.
What is a Canada eTA?
An eTA is an online travel authorisation linked to your passport. It's generally valid for up to five years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first, and you can use it for multiple trips. It's only needed when you arrive by air. If you get a new passport, you need a new eTA.
What you'll need
- The passport you will travel with
- A photo of your passport's photo page
- Your home address, occupation and employer
- Answers to the background questions, which you answer yourself
How MyVisaMate helps
We guide you through the form, a person checks your answers before we submit, and we email you when there's an update. Choose how fast we submit: within 24 hours, 4 hours or 15 minutes.
